We’ve had a busy couple of months, with new startup LawPath getting started,
the co-working space taking shape and the official launch of the Startup Focus book.
Here’s a short update covering all that’s happening in the Hive.

In the media

While hosting nationwide events, meeting with investors and various media professionals, there has been quite a bit to talk about. Over 350 investors have registered for our Investment Opportunity, and more than 200 investors have attended our briefings in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

D Team: Design for Hire in the Hive

Servicing lean startups can require an extra touch of magic. Meet the D Team, made up of our in-house Digital Design creators, James, Katie and CJ. They have been the heart and soul of the Pollenizer design centre, facilitating all startups working out of the Hive. As the web gets more competitive, securing great design is vital for early stage startups.

Co-working available in the Hive

Join the Pollenizer community, as a casual or permanent member from April 2013. Our space is known as ‘The Hive’. It’s here, where we share space, learnings and knowledge. We are offering a framework for entrepreneurs to learn and build better web businesses within a growing community of web experts. We are now open to entrepreneurs or small teams looking to engage in the readymade community.

New Business LawPath

Our latest business, LawPath has joined the Pollenizer startup ranks. Welcoming 2 new members to the team, Paul Lupson and Andy Rose, who are joining forces to co-found a disruptive legal business. Lawpath ensures startups have access to affordable, relevant and expert legal advice.

LawPath is focused on connecting people and businesses to the right lawyer at low cost. For just $29, the customer presents their problem. In return, they are provided with 30 minutes of an experienced lawyer’s time. For $49/month, they can become members of LawPath which allows them 3 x 30 minute phone calls per month with an experienced lawyer to discuss their legal issues.

A short update from some of the businesses working out of the Hive:

Pygg: Pygg continue to drive their school payments system. The business assists parents in paying for school events through the Pygg payment platform. The long-term goal is to provide an accessible tool for social group payments, making small payments easier to manage.

WooBoard: WooBoard, the employee recognition tool, is helping positive praise flourish across enterprises. Keeping record of continued support and team dedication, this is a powerful tool to drive motivation within your team.

FLT: From Little Things have recently showcased their biggest events yet. Inviting Tyler Crowley over from the States to present an event in Fishburners along with a pitch training session in Pollenizer. Read Zach’s FLT article covering the February events.
