The last 6 weeks at Pollenizer have been a tremendously positive experience. The highlight for me has definitely the people. A real focus is placed on an open, accessible exchange of information and ideas. The collaborative creative processes and enthusiastic approach to everything that gets done makes Pollenizer an awesome place to work.
I’ve really enjoyed getting an insight into the ‘lean startup’ methodology and the great number of innovative web businesses that are formed here which are making life easier for thousands of people around Australia.
It’s certainly expanded my understanding of the startup ecosystem in Australia. Before starting, I was half-convinced by the mainstream media that there was no startup ecosystem in Australia and all our good ideas were just shipped to Silicon Valley. My time here has shown this is definitely not the case. It’s been exciting to be part of the beginning of the Pollenizer Global movement and it’s really proven to me that there’s a huge future for the startup ecosystem in Australia (with Pollenizer leading the way).
My 6 weeks has certainly given me a new perspective on opportunities for the future. And I’m not just saying that. Last week I actually changed my Master’s degree specialisation from Finance and Banking to Strategy and Innovation with a view to exploring social entrepreneurship. Startups are an endlessly fascinating pursuit and I hope to be involved with their creation down the track.
