Rounding out the first month at Pollenizer has capped a steep learning curve. Pollenizer Academy kicked off on Wednesday, a course aimed at teaching the ‘lean startup’ methodology that Pollenizer encapsulates: ‘spreading the Pollenizer seed’. Suffice to say the place has been a hive of activity leading up to the first class led by the prophetic Phil Morle (the guy kind of reminds me of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings- minus the wizard staff obviously). In any case, it’s been great to help Nicola behind the scenes to make sure it all went off without a hitch.
The rest of the week has been spent working on the Pollenizer investor report for the last financial year. It’s aimed at giving investors an update of the various portfolio companies of Pollenizer and their direction for the next 12 months. This has been a good opportunity to speak with the founders of the each business and do some research into their value proposition and strategic fit. With Mick (who is the guiding light of the project) being sick for most of the week, I’m hoping that what I’ve done isn’t too disastrous. #flearn.
