Purpose of the Role
As Head of Design, you will represent Design/User Interface in the Metapod at Pollenizer. The Metapod is accountable for defining and driving the Pollenizer process for building new web businesses from idea to success. The Head of Design has the overall responsibility for all production of work completed by the UI Team and provides strategic direction for the department.
As User Interface Designer, you will be responsible for design deliverables for Pollenizer and the Portfolio businesses.
Key responsibilities & duties
- Inspiring creativity throughout all design work at Pollenizer.
- Ensuring that all design work is completed to the highest standard possible and in accordance with lean methodologies.
- Overseeing the UI team members’ design output, as well as their performance as individuals and as a team.
- Making recommendations for process and system improvements for design and all relevant departments at Pollenizer.
- Drive constant improvements for user interface and innovation.
- Working with the other Heads of Department and the General Managers to maintain communication and relationships within the team and Pods.
- Be the “Keeper of the Flame” for Pollenizer Culture.
Skills You’ll Need
- Be a role model for your team and Pollenizer as a whole.
- 7+ years of experience in hands-on design, preferably at a team-leader level.
- Front end expertise would be nice.
- We work with the Adobe Creative suite.
- Be a mentor and coach for the Design team, and the startup community.
- Find comfort and opportunity in chaos.
