Kondoot Interview: Missing Bits

I was interviewed for ABC TV which went live tonight and I thought I’d quickly share some bits that got cut out;

1. Anyone starting a business and giving it a go should be encouraged.
2. Being able to raise $10m like that takes some skill, vision and guts.
3. It’s all down to execution, and the Kondoot team have plenty of opportunity to nail it.

My brutal, armchair safe thoughts on the business;

• Doesn’t seem focused enough yet. Being in 134 countries doesn’t impress me. 134 people using it every day is better.
• I don’t think they are the first. Ustream is pretty good social live video.
• I like the games they did. Didn’t feel super related to the core, but it was another reason to hang around.
• I don’t think they have the traction yet. I could only find 2 shows on. Doesn’t seem to warrant $10m+ valuation.

Regardless, some young Aussies, giving it a go and having a huge ambition – awesome!
