FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR APPLICANTS TO THE FREE | MONEY MICROHACK

Q1. How do I apply for a place in the Microhack ?
Q2. If I’ve missed the launch night on November 7 can I still apply for the Microhack?
The Microhack took place on the 12th-13th December 2016, and was a great success with 20 founders joining together to pitch 8 ground-breaking ideas in the finance sector. Check back at http://pollenizer.com/freemoney for more news on the program.

Q3. Do I have to be present for the full two days of the Microhack on 12-13th December?
Yes. The two day Microhack is a critical part of our selection process. You’ll join a team who we will coach to discover the business model hidden within solving a key customer or industry problem, and at the end of the two days you will be pitching your discoveries for a position in the incubator.

Q4. I’ve already got a startup and a team – can I apply too ?
Yes. We can allocate up to two places per team in the Microhack.

Q5. How and when will I find out if I am selected for the Microhack?
You will be notified via email on or before the 29th of November 2016 if you have been selected for the Microhack. We may call you before then, if we have any questions.

Q6. How will my IP be treated during the Microhack?
We’re taking a commonsense approach based on our information handling guidelines Sharing – and Protecting Ideas at Pollenizer. In a nutshell, this means that we’ll encourage free and open sharing of ideas, opinions and learnings at the Microhack under the Chatham House Rule – which allows anyone to share learnings freely if they don’t directly (or indirectly) reveal the source of those learnings. Anyone can then use any new idea developed and shared at the Microhack.

Q7. What if I want to keep my ideas confidential and not share them yet?
Easy, don’t share anything confidential. Our Microhack is all about business model discovery – so share a problem and solution that allows you to show your capabilities without giving away your secret idea. Food for thought: if your idea is untested, the overwhelming likelihood is that business model validation will change it anyway.

Q8. If I am selected for the 3-month Incubation, do I have to work on it full-time?
Yes, this is a full time commitment. To help with living expenses during the program, Pepper has agreed to pay a monthly ‘living stipend’ to individuals and/or teams.

Q9. If I am selected for the 3-month Incubation, how will the partnership with Pepper work and how will ownership of any intellectual property be determined?
Before incubation begins, we’ll ask you to sign a document called a “Services Agreement” to govern the partnership between yourself (or your startup) and Pepper. It will outline the monthly spend to be paid in return for regular sharing of any intellectual property created during the incubation period, and give Pepper first option to invest in your startup to pursue further development of the shared IP with you. At the end of the incubation period, Pollenizer, Pepper and the you as founder(s) may decide to take the IP and place it in a startup – new or existing – for further development, you may decide to sell the IP to Pepper in its entirety, or you may both decide to develop it separately. Further guidance and information on this will be provided if you are chosen for incubation.s is a full time commitment. To help with living expenses during the program, Pepper has agreed to pay a monthly ‘living stipend’ to individuals and/or teams.
