I’ve been reading the book Gamestorming which is about adding gaming to work to get better results. It’s good though it’s a lot more about using games in workshops and brainstorming situations.
A few things I’ve learned reading it;
- Stop being critical in the early phases – let it flow and don’t interrupt the creativity.
- The tools you use can have a big influence on the feel of a session.
- Post-it notes aren’t just a nice idea, they are actually essential in a lot of situations.
- Wrapping up a meeting is an art. I have always known it’s important to consider the next steps but I’m even clearer now on the importance of pulling it all together and being clear on next steps.
- Consider your audience (of course) but also how they think. Don’t just work with it, challenge it.
