It’s great to have friends, colleagues and mentors encourage you and tell you ‘you can do it’. It’s crucial to have people who give you brutally honest feedback.

Look for it, cultivate it, and make sure you’re getting it in a healthy dose. We even go so far as to ‘externalise’ by having someone not deeply involved in the project who you can have a 10 minute call or coffee with each month. Importantly they must be willing to call you on the real stuff. Your focus. Your direction. Your execution. Your leadership.

Yes, you need to stay positive and not bring you down. Listen with an open mind, but don’t obsess on it. Think about how to address the issue or work with/around it, but don’t dwell on it. As we always say, just try something rather than over analyse it.

Don’t forget that people (i.e. customers) are often not great at envisioning big leaps, rather they think about the increments on their current situation. So don’t take it as final, but realise that it may be your starting point.

So to try and show you all by example, we’d like your brutal feedback. Pollenizer is a hard working team, and we always do our best but I know that we’ve made mistakes, not come through, not nailed it and probably trod on some toes a few times.

If you have an anonymous note you’d like to ‘slip under the door’ at Pollenizer, fill out this form and we’ll take a deep breath, try and understand and work to get better at it;
