Pierre Sauvignon

Biography
Salut ! My name is Pierre
I'm a Frenchman who started working with the Pollenizer team a couple of years ago when I decided that Australian wine wasn't all that bad and moved down under. Today my playground is product and system design. Which means that I build applications and make sure that they are as easy on the brain as on the eyes!
I like systems that are fun to use. The iPhone and more recently the iPad are good examples. I believe that systems have to be designed with the end user's happiness in mind. Nobody likes to fill in forms 3 pages long or to go through countless pages to find the help desk... Reducing friction and making interaction as smooth as possible is one of my goals. If we get that right then the product has every chance to be successful.
I coded my first software when I was 12. It was running on my calculator (HP 48G!) and helped me to go through years of math tests... As a teenager I started building websites for friends and I quickly got the entrepreneurial bug and started my first company. Since then I finished my studies (Masters of Multimedia Engineering) and spent most of my time in between France and Australia working with cool startups and great people.
I live in Glebe, and I like riding my bike around the area with my camera around my neck (quite literally). Yes that's one more thing about me; if I'm not in front of a screen you'll probably find me behind the camera taking pictures. I love photography and also work on a photobloging system when I get the chance.
