Biography

Hi there, I'm Jon.

I'm a CTO, passionate about taking your ideas and translating them into focused products that people love to use.

As a kid I spent time playing with and writing simple software for the BBC Micro and ZX Spectrum and ever since then I have been expanding my knowledge of technology. When I finished university in the north of Scotland I decided that IT was a great way to see the world. After cutting my teeth at various companies in the UK, ten years ago I headed to Australia. I've had the privilege to live and work in many cities around the world with Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Phoenix, Melbourne and Sydney being some of the highlights.

I've worked in GPS and GIS development (at the time time when GPS devices were bigger than a coke bottle!) smart card technology, banking and finance; for the last seven years on internet and mobile technologies. I headed up the engineering division at Kazaa and spent five years building the product into one of the most downloaded software products in the world. Prior to Pollenizer I worked with Omnidrive before joining Australia's ICT Center of Excellence (NICTA). When Phil and Mick setup Pollenizer I jumped to join them and it's been a wild ride ever since!

Working with clients and partners to build great products is what I do and since joining Pollenizer have been working with some great people from Sportspassion, Lingopal, Mixin, Paper Free, Booking Angel and Posse.

When I'm not working I'm hanging out with my partner and puppy or catching up with friends in the Inner West. If you see me around then say hello.
